Frazetta and Lucas

With the recent opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, we wanted to not only encourage everyone to visit but, also call out the great opportunity to see Frazetta original art at a West Coast location.

While there are nowhere near as many originals on display as you will see at the Frazetta Art Museum in PA. they, have nevertheless done right by Frazetta with giving him a dedicated gallery space.
The art is presented simply and cleanly, allowing the visitor to be drawn in completely by the magnetic appeal of Frazetta's composition, color, drama, and imagination.
Based on some loose data we were able to wrangle from a friend working at the LMNA, the Frazetta gallery has been particularly popular. Visitor counts and also time spent within the Frazetta gallery has consistently been among the highest for any area of the entire complex. Frazetta continues to have the power to engage people at a rational and visceral level!!

It's been well-noted that George Lucas has been a fan of Frazetta's work for a very long time. There are even claimed direct influences of Frazetta art in Star Wars.

“When I displayed my paintings for George Lucas—who’s a brilliant, soft-spoken, dear guy—he looked like he had died and gone to heaven,” Frank remembers. “He said that a series of 1950s Buck Rogers comic book covers that I had done ‘inspired the life out of him,’ when he was a youngster. One of them even wound up as a small moment in Star Wars!” - Frank Frazetta

Never pass up the chance to see the work of the Grandmaster in person!
Lastly, we want to sincerely thank all the supporters of the ADVENTURES Kickstarter. This third volume is a very special one. It may not have the immediate recognition and appeal of barbarians swinging swords and saving scantily clad maidens but, the incredible variety and imagination at work in this collection is just breathtaking!
Please encourage all your friends to check out the Kickstarter and pledge to support the preservation of the work of Frank Frazetta and acquire some permanent additions for your library.
